ALOHA!!! Hello, readers! Happy Holidays! It is officially December, and that means… Holiday Desserts!! In today’s post, I will be showing you guys how to make some holiday themed cupcakes.
Before we start all of these recipes will need a few things…
- Buttercream or frosting of some kind
- Food Coloring
- Cupcakes (flavor doesn’t matter)
- Sprinkles
- Christmas Tree Cupcakes!🌲
In this recipe you will be needing:
- A cupcake or cupcakes
- Green buttercream/ frosting
- Sprinkles
For this recipe, you are going to want to use a thicker frosting, like an American buttercream. Click the buttercream to take you to an easy recipe for it.
- You are first going to put your green buttercream into a piping bag fitted with a star tip. If you don’t have either, grab a plastic bag and put it in there.
- Then, take your cupcake and pipe a swirl going up to make the shape of a tree. You can put as much or as little as you want, remember trees can be any shape or size.
- Finally, take your sprinkles and stick them on the side of the buttercream to make it look like ornaments.
2. Candy Cane Cupcakes! 🍬
In this recipe, you will need:
- Red and white buttercream
- Peppermint extract (optional)
- Peppermint candies of some sort (optional)
For this recipe, you might want to use a vanilla cake. If you wanted to you could color half of the batter red and swirl the white and red batter before it goes in the oven.
- You are first going to put your red and white buttercream in two separate piping bag or a Ziploc with no tip.
- Then, put a ring of red buttercream followed by a ring of white buttercream on top. Alternate until you reach your desired amount of frosting. Or you can put both colors into one bag and it will pipe a swirl. You can even combine the two to make a pick color, whatever you want.
- This is optional but if you want you can add some crushed up peppermint candies on top.
3. Reindeer Cupcakes!🎅
In this recipe, you will need:
- Cupcakes (better if chocolate)
- Brown buttercream
- red circular candies
- pretzels
- candy eyes
- a small circular cookie or biscut
For this recipe, I would recommend using a chocolate cupcake to make the bottom look more like the bottom of a reindeer.
- First, you are going to take some brown/chocolate buttercream and spread it all of the tops of the cupcakes. Keep putting frosting on until you have a nice even coat.
- Then, take your candy eyes and position them a little bit up from the center of the cupcake. After, take the cookie and put it below the eyes. Then stick the red candy right on top.
- Finally, take your pretzels and stick them at the top of the cupcake (above the eyes) for the antlers.
